PHEW! It's been quite a ride at Rodra's Room. I stopped producing for my brand in 2021 because I chose to work a job that was steady (yet was unfulfilling at the end of day), but we know the allure of a steady paycheck right? It was hard to put energy into two different paths. So, I closed the brand, and to be honest I wish I hadn't!
Rodra's Room is ME, it is ultimately the highest understanding of creativity for myself. I spent so long denying myself in all the wrong ways, confirming to different jobs just to stay alive. But each endeavor was short lived, for ultimately the same reasons. They just weren't ME. Don't get me wrong, I learned a lot from each I had. I can give you a sweet beat if you are ever looking to get your makeup done for a once in a lifetime occasion, I know my way around a film camera, and I can listen to someone yell about their medical grievances over the phone. I have worn many hats and it has been a wonderful time being a student. But now I realize it is time to walk MY own path. It feels like everything I have done has prepared me for this moment. Then I heard *NSYNC sing:
Cause I've waited/I've been waiting forever/Right here for this moment/Between you and I/Everything is happening/And it's just what I imagined/I imagined it would feel like...
Paradise.
